Because "Well Done" Shouldn’t Be Your Deck

Grill Placement
- Only grill outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
- Position the grill at least 10 feet away for your home, fences, decks, and other structures..
- Place the grill on a flat, level, and non-flammable surface.
Firing Up the Grill
- Use grill outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
- Arrange the charcoal in a mound or small pyramid shape in the Gripper (on one side or both depending on usage at the time).
- Place lighter cubes among the charcoal or use lighter fluid.
- Light the cubes (or fluid) and allow the coals to ignite. This may take 15-20 minutes.
- Never use gasoline or kerosene to start the fire.
- Cap the lighter fluid immediately after use and place it a safe distance away from the grill.
- Do not add lighter fluid to hot coals.
For Smoking:
- Start fire on one side of gripper.
- Make sure other side (lid side) is free of coals or debris - so nothing falls on top of cooking food when you close the lid.
- Make sure vents are open to control smoke levels.
During Grilling
- Keep children and pets away from the grill.
- Never leave the grill unattended.
- Use long-handled utensils to handle food and coals
- Keep the grill free of grease and fat buildup, which can cause flare-ups.
- Ensure the grill has adequate ventilation, with vents open.
- Grates: Make sure to pay attention to meat temperature, the coals are closer to the cooking surface so food may cook faster than on bigger grills.
- 3GBBQTX Original Griddles: Both the large and small griddles work on the Gripper, to add an array of BBQing options.
After Grilling - Coal Disposal
Very hot! Always use hot gloves when handling the Gripper until cooled down.
- Allow coals to burn out completely and cool for at least 48 hours before disposing of them.
- Never transport Gripper with hot coals inside!
- Latch Gripper before transporting (can move with grates in place, if Gripper is latched closed.)
- Dispose of cooled ashes in a metal container.
- If ashes must be disposed of before cooling, thoroughly soak them in water first.
- Wipe out inside of cooled gripper.
- Clean cooled grates with dish soap and warm water. Use a non-abrasive sponge, like a "Scrub Mommy" or Dobie Pad.
Other Safety Measures
- Keep a fire extinguisher nearby and know how to use it.
- Wear appropriate clothing, including heat-resistant gloves.
- Clean the grill thoroughly after each use.
- Use grate lifters when handling grates until they have cooled down.
- Never use flammable liquids like petrol or spirits.
